1. What is the Lightcraft School of Imagination?

The Lightcraft School is a structured alternative to conventional creative education, offering accessible, high-quality training designed to help artists learn and grow at their own pace.

2. Who is this training for?

This training is for anyone who wants to improve their art skills through structured lessons and techniques used in modern art education today. The training is suitable for beginners. Whether your goal is to become a concept artist, illustrator or just to improve and learn, you are welcome.

3. What will I need?

You will need a basic sketchbook, drawing equipment, like a pencil and eraser, access to digital painting software such as Photoshop, and an entry-level Wacom drawing tablet or similar. Fineliners, coloured pencils and a putty eraser are optional, but not required.

4. What is the level of this training?

This training is built on the same material used in a three-year degree-level concept art program. It is presented here as a self-paced system, made accessible so it can be shared more widely.

5. How is this training offered?

The training is hosted on a professional online learning platform allowing learners to progress at their own pace. The program follows a structured progression, with each stage building on the last. There are three main tiers, designed to build core art skills for beginners, a wide range of design skills for those with intermediate skills and an advanced tier to explore world building and creative application of skills.

6. What is your stance on AI?

Lightcraft prioritises foundational art skills, imagination, and human creativity. At the same time, it is important to understand how modern tools, including AI, are affecting the creative industry and how they may be used responsibly as support tools.

7. What could I expect to accomplish from this training?

What you do with these skills is up to you. Creatives trained using this system have worked as concept artists and illustrators in film, games, and animation on projects such as One Piece, 1923, and Boy Kills World. Others have gone on to create their own video games, children’s books, and original intellectual property, pursuing careers as independent creatives.
